| "Countess, the world has changed." philosophizes the Ragpicker, alias Jim Brennan, in this year's Senior class play. Jim contends he has finally memorized his lines and is confident, "There is nothing to worry about... I hope." This well-known senior's activities include being a Student Council representative all four years, vice-president of the class, chairman of the Memory record committee his sophomore year, public relations' committee chairman his junior year, and president of Brotherhood Society this year. Many memories stand out in Jim's mind. "Especially when I was a candidate for second vice-president of the Illinois Association of Student councils," relates Jim. At first he remarked he hadn't any pet peeves, but then conceded that milk cartons with staples in the wrong places, and "people" do make him angry once in a while. Old purple duffle bags, jazz, and Dobie Gillis are favored by him, along with shrimp dejoghn, whooping crane livers, and sun flower seeds (?) All kidding aside, Jim's main ambition is to write a book called A Book of Everyday Philosophies. "I'll probably never get around to it," he says, "because I never have any spare time." Along with being kidded about adlibbing his parts in the play, he remembers a V-show costume he had to wear. "It was a bit drafty." He wouldn't explain further. No specific college as yet in Jim's plans, but he would like to major in public relations. "I really do like people," he stated. In his advice to the world, Jim relates an anecdote: "There was a man who looked out the window and saw his barn needed painting. Instead of painting the barn he painted the window." Also Jim wants every- one to remember this is "Be Kind to Irishmen Week!" Editors note: This as close as we can come to the personality of Jim Brennan. |
If you see a cute 5'1" girl with yellow eyes surrounded by blue, whiz by in the hail during the next week, don't let it bother you; it's just Carri Perez, student director of the Senior Class play. This year has also found her active on the Pom Pom squad, and producer of the V-Show. The biggest thrill for Carri was being chosen Social committee chairman of Student Council. This petite Miss can sure pack away ravioli, but she will never get fat on lime beans and peas, which she detests. When asked what her pet peeves are, she says "Ooh! People who don't do their jobs and those who use bad language. She added, "It makes me so mad when I stick my foot in my mouth." Carri has many pastimes including tennis, water skiing, and ice skating. We are told she is a very good piano player, but when asked to play she becomes very embarrassed and turns a pretty shade of red. The bright light of her life is a certain junior boy, who Carri thinks is pretty special. What's Leonard's last name again? Even though she finds her senior year the most fun, she has serious ambition for the future, She hopes to attend Northwestern University and become a physician and surgeon. Oh, I almost forgot, Carri requested a plug for the Thanksgiving dance which is to be held November 26, from 9 to 12. She hopes to see everyone there. |
