Awards Given By Dads' Club

The annual Fall Sports banquet, sponsored by the Maine West Dads' club, was held in the cafeteria on Tuesday evening, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. This traditional event was to honor the football and cross country squads who received recognition during the program. Mr. Milton Tuttle handled the duties of master of ceremonies.

Football awards were presented to Mike Kunkel, most valuable player, and to co-captains George Amundson and Larry Ladendorf. These awards were presented by Mr. Kenneth Olson, vice-president of the Dads' club and head football coach and athletic director of Maine West.

Cross country awards were presented by Coach William Barringer to Ed Stedman, most valuable player, and to Paul Eisenbacher, captain.
Another big event of the evening was the presentation to Mr. K. Olson, Mr. G. Zuccarini and to Mr. A. Carstens, gifts of appreciation (??) for their fine work.

Besides gifts of value, Mr. Carstens and Mr. Zuccarini were given gifts to comemorate the highlights of the season. Mr. Carstens was awarded five little silver fish which once were alive. Mr. Zuccarini received two little Golden books, one of which was "The Little Red Hen."

Mr. Herman Herzog, president, invited the Cheerleaders and Pom Pom girls to be guests at the banquet.
