Warrior of the West |
|||||||||||
| Senior swimming star Ken Fadden is this week's Warrior of the West. Ken earned his numerals his freshman year at Maine (East). While a sophomore, Ken lost out on lettering by just one-half of a point. In his junior year, however, he lettered in swimming under Coach Harold Baer. He was voted the Most Valuable swimmer by his fellow mermen in both his sophomore and junior years. Ken mentioned that he is really proud to be a part of the Warrior swimming team. Ken's event specialty is the medley. The medley consists of one length of the pool in front crawl, one in breaststroke, one back stroke, and one butterfly. |
Blue-eyed, blond-haired, six- foot Ken plans to attend college when he graduates, but he has not made definite plans on which college he will go to or what he plans to study. According to Ken, one of the most thrilling swim meets he swam in took place in his sophomore year. He swam against two good tankers from Evanston and New Trier and dumped both of them! Horseback riding, roller skating, and ice skating are among Ken's favorite sports when he isn't in the pool practicing-and he practices pretty hard. |
