Ed Desires Journalism

Six foot one, eyes of blue, describes Ed Stedman, popular and busy senior.

Ed, alias "legs" and "twinkletoes," is best known for his feats in cross-country and track. He has two reasons for choosing these particular sports. "I love to run," and "The guys put pressure on me." Ed lettered last year but he only got part of the "M" club outfit. He got the letter and his girl got the pin.

Ed has always wanted to be a columnist on a large city newspaper. Well, he certainly has a good start! Ed is coSports Editor of the Westerner and Sports Editor of the Des Plaines Journal, and president of Quill and Scroll. He plans to follow through next year by entering the University of Missouri and majoring in journalism.
Being voted most valuable runner by his fellow "M" Club members is an honor Ed will always remember. Another experience he will never forget is giving a speech at the Homecoming assembly. Apparently, some of the cross-country team didn't appreciate his remarks. Ed couldn't come to practice for two days for fear of being drowned in the shower.

"We need a fieldhouse." That seemed to be Ed's only comment for improving the school. Ed has an unusual request, however, for Christmas. He muttered, "I want a forest ranger badge." (?)
