Tankmen To See Brooks |

| At the hands of top notch competition, Maine West's tankmen have suffered three defeats in the first weeks of swimming encounters. The mermen take on Glenbrook tonight in West's pool at 7:30 p.m. Hinsdale, third in the West Suburban conference last season, conquered West's tankmen, 78-8, in the season opener. Evanston, the State champs, 69-17. Art Behn, Pat Gassner, Bob Olson, and Craig Schuellenberg scored a first in the 200-yard free style relay. Ken Fadden grabbed second in the 100-yard free style event. Against East Leyden of the Interim League, the tankers managed a close score of East Leyden 51, Maine West 42. Adam Berg won the 200-yard free style, and Bruce Johns took the 100-yard backstroke. The medley relay was won by Art Behn, Ken Fadden, Bruce Johns, and Phil Wankat. Bill Alles also held a first in the 200-yard individual relay. |
