The Mail Man

Letter to the Editor:
Conflict between democracy and communism is spreading throughout the world. It is my personal opinion that no course at Maine West prepares its students to face, with full understanding, the problems which arise. We are not taught the Doctrine of Communism. Therefore, we are ignorant, and ignorance is the breeding ground of communism. How many of Maine's students could explain our system of democracy and how it differs from the communistic system?

What we need is a course not like modern history or democracy, but a current affairs course which would discuss and try to understand today's problems. Certainly, a course like this would be worth-while.

Dear Editor:
Is there any reason why the school paper can't represent the whole student body? Would it be possible for the paper to have representatives from all classes working on each edition, rather than only juniors and seniors?

If there are any underclassmen working on the paper, is it conceivable that there is room for more?
