| Karen Barrett '61, has been awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Cit-izen's award to be presented at the annual Honors assembly in the spring. She is now eligible to compete with girls from other high schools in Illinois for the DAR Girl of the Year award. The Girl of the Year wins a $100 savings bond and a possible trip. all-star, Karen has displayed her numerous leadership traits. Seniors chose three girls who they considered possessed the fine characteristics of service, dependability, patriotism and leadership. From the three finalists, the faculty selected Karen as the winner. Mrs. Robert L. Fox, chairman of the Award committee of the Park Ridge chapter of the DAR, said, "Karen is to be complimented for her achievement. It is indeed a splendid honor for a girl to be chosen to receive this award." |
