Reporter Voices Complaint

Dear Editor
(This is an open letter to the students of Maine West)

As a homeroom reporter I have a complaint to make. The Westener is constantly being attacked on the grounds that it does not represent the entire student body. When I undertook the position of homeroom reporter, I understood that I was to be a link between the student body and the paper.

I have talked to students in my homeroom and to other students in an attempt to discover what it is that they don't like about the paper. I have asked what they would like to read in the paper. They don't have any suggestions and the response is negative.

The names of the homeroom reporters were printed in the last issue of the paper. Now every person in this school who knows his homeroom number knows who he should bring his suggestions and gripes to.

If the school paper is to represent the entire student body, it must have help from each and every student. If anyone has anything that he would like' to see in the paper, he should tell his homeroom reporter.

An Idle Reporter
Dear Editor:
What has happened to those home fires that are supposed to be kept burning? Granted, this is the age of the frozen foods, but it hasn't become the age of the frozen high school student yet, has it?

As one opens the honor Study hall door he is greeted by an icy blast of air. This doesn't bother you if you're wearing a parka and driving your sled and dogs, but alas, the faculty may not appreciate turning the school into a kennel.

To remedy the situation, couldn't the heating problem be looked into?

Frozen and Frigid Letters to the editor

Dear Editor:
My sincerest compliments to the person or persons who instigated the installation of music in the cafeteria. This brings a relaxing change to a period that is normally quite rushed. I think that "Peter Gunn" might be a bit more popular but possibly not quite as soothing. The current selection of music is great.
