Land Of Free Made Mockery By Un-American Prejudice

Is it a handicap to be born in the United States of America? For some it is. Many Negroes, Hebrews, and those of other minority groups are denied rights and privileges that should be and would be theirs in an other land. How will we achieve peace in the world if we cannot and will not live together without irresponsible hatred for our fellow man?

I recently heard a man in a department store refuse to buy an article labeled "made in Japan," saying "I fought 'em for years. and now I'm not goin' to feed 'em." This is hatred at its worst, not complimentary in the Land of the Free. A
man should not be scorned because his skin is another color, he speaks with an accent, or he has a different manner of worshipping the Creator of all men.

Prejudice also labors inversely. Do not give prime consideration to a Catholic if you are of the same denomination. Do not favor a Negro if you are one. An employer who hires those of mixed races and religions is respected by his employees and receives a maximum day's work in a joyful atmosphere. We all need to work together if we are to wipe out prejudice and build a greater nation.
