32 Hurdle First Test
Thirty-two Maine West sen-iors have placed as semi-final-ists in the 1961 Illinois State Scholarship competition.

They are Sherrilyn Balma, Karen Barrett, Randall Baselt, Susan Betz, Patricia Bolden, Norman Boyer, Lynn Buffo, El-len Cameron, Kathy Clayton, Gerry Dettman, Alex Dickison, Jewell Eisfeldt, Bryn Fick, Ruth Gembicki, and David Hopkins.
 Also William Kelsey, Patricia Kerst, Thomas Kinder, Karen Krull, Anne Kulik, Janet Modesitt Donald Plautz, Tony Richter, Craig Schulenberg, Charlene Thompson, Allen Wankat, Richard Williams, Nancy Wright, Tim Kloth, August Milz, Celeste Stachnik, and Robert Webb.

From the 4,500 semi-finalists, the Illinois State Scholarship commission will name more than 2,500 monetary and honorary award winners.

Each monetary award carries a scholarship based on the students need with a maximum of $600 a year.
