Brotherhood Week Strives for Unity
"A house divided cannot stand; a school divided cannot expand." This is the theme for Brotherhood Week to be held February 20 through 24.

The highlight of the week will be the assembly on Friday at which time new Brotherhood Society members will be presented to the student body. The speaker for this assembly will be Mr. Donald McEvoy, Associate Director of National Council of Christians and Jews. Mr. McEvoy's topic will be "Are You Part of the Problem or Part of the Answer?"

The theme "A house divided cannot stand; a school divided cannot expand" was chosen by Brotherhood Society members at their last meeting because it is their opinion that our utmost concern should be in bettering relationships within our school.

Brotherhood Week officially opens on Monday, February 20. The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows: Tuesday, an open letter to the entire
student body from Brotherhood Society is read in homerooms; Wednesday, elections for the persons most worthy of Brotherhood awards (three boys and three girls from each class) are held in homeroom; Thursday, continued participation in the spirit of Brotherhood Week; Friday, climax of the week, the assembly presenting new members and address given by Mr. McEvoy.

Jim Brennan, president of Brotherhood Society, suggests "Brotherhood Week should be an enthusiastic reminder to all the students."

Present members to the society are seniors Karen Barrett, Sandie Haarvig, Anne Kulik, Lynn Turner, Andy Adolfson, Jim Brennan, Mike Callaghan, Nick Ladas, Bruce Murdock, Mike Rowlee, Frank Schwartz; juniors Judy Reid, Gretchen Rider, Barb White,, Butch Bending, John Bernero, Rick Warnicke; and sophomores Lynn Hodges, Pat Ritter, Lois Wright, Tom Prochaska, John Schafer, and Don Spyrison.
