Warrior of the West |
|||||||||||
| "My greatest thrill was going downstate last year as a member of the West track team!" exclaimed Art Steele, this week's Warrior of the West. This ambitious senior, who earned his letter in track last year, feels that Maine West has a good chance to take conference and perhaps even have a try for district. Standing 6 feet, and weighing 140 pounds, Art, has a dark brown crew-cut and sparkling brown eyes. Cross-country |
and a certain gal by the name of Marty include some of his other interests. Mr. Edwin Smith, this year's varsity track coach, has high hopes for Art and feels he is a good prospect for college track. Art, who plans to become a physical education teacher after graduation, feels that the only way the Warrior track team could be improved is to have more fellas who can take second and third places in track meets instead of concentrating on first. |
