Maine West has 15 new teachers to replace ones who left the school last year, and to add to departments which are growing. Business Education gained three new teachers, while other departments such as Music and Social Science gained none.
The Business Education Department's new teachers are Diane DiVito, who student taught here last year and will be active in the sports program; Carol Ann Hagg, who will also be a coach this year. James G. Lyons also student taught here last year, and he will coach here too.
The English Department has two new teachers; Sandra Bonde who has directed plays and musical productions, and Suzanne Colliander, and expert in technical theatre. The Home Economics Department gained one teacher, Ms. Sue Papreck who taught at Maine East last year.

The Industrial Education Department has 2 additions to its staff. Joseph C. Stolz will be teaching graphics. He was transferred from Maine North and has also taught at Maine East. Stephan Zimmerman teaches Woods I and is back at Maine West after teaching for 1 year at Nipper School. The Department of Special Education has a new teacher, Ms. Helaine Cohen, who is experienced in this area and is highly recommended.
The Department of Physical Education has 2 new teachers this year. Mr. Arthur Wildner will coach football this year; last year he taught gymnastics at Maine North. Ms. Ruth Olson will be coaching several sports as she did last year at Maine East. The Science Department also gained two more on its faculty. Ms. Caryn Grosskopf transferred from Maine East and will be teaching physical science, as will Mr. David DeBarr, who is working toward his masters degree.
