Student Council Makes Plans for
School Year

Student Council would like to welcome the students and faculty back to the halls of Maine West. We would also like to express that we believe this will be the greatest year ever in the history of our school. Already the students have shown unlimited spirit at a recent pep assembly. Their enthusiasm can be felt all around Maine West.

The people involved in Student Council are working harder than ever under the leadership of Dave Jackson to provide new and exciting student functions, as well as a host of revitalized traditional events. Taking a look at the calendar, we see the possibility for an after dance, and then Homecoming week begins. This year the outdoor pep assembly will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, with the game on Friday night, and the dance on Saturday.

In November donkey basketball returns to the Rider Gym. Only a month later is the penny drive and Christmas cards will again be delivered this year.

In January look for the winter concert along with another Dance Marathon. For spring there will be the Girls' Choice Dance, Secret Admirers' Day, and Spring Carnival.

About these events Dave Jackson commented, "All in all we're trying to say that we have the ingredients, and we need you to help us mix them. We challenge the students of Maine West to make this year the best ever and one that will be remembered in the years to come."
