Flint Attends Purdue Seminar

Flint Collier '79 attended the twentieth annual Student Science Training Program in the Life Sciences at Purdue University this past summer. This was a high achievement for Flint, because he was one of 40 students who were chosen from over 200 applicants.

Each day the students listened to two hours of lecture by leading researchers and Purdue professors. Once a week an evening seminar was led by an outstanding authority; field trips were taken to research facilities. Six hours of study per day at these stations was supervised on a specific problem in the life sciences. Flint studied "The Drying of Extruded Products."

He commented that the experience was "great" and "the program itself was really good." Flint hopes to major in the field of bio‑medical engineering. This year he is taking AP math and AP chemistry.
