The boys' cross country team started out the 1978 season in high gear. The Warrior team has won all three of their dual meets, and they placed third out of 26 teams in one invitational and third out of 22 teams in another.

Outstanding varsity runners for the Warriors this year are Jukka Kallio, Kent Towler, Bob Fisher, and Dave Ahlman. On the sophomore level Mike Schachte and Jerry Kleiner are exceptionally strong, and the best freshman runners are Kurt Danielson, Chris Walsh, and Dan Johnson.

Last Tuesday the Warriors had their fourth dual meet, Niles North making up the opposition.

The girls' cross country team has only been in one invitational this year. The freshman‑sophomore team placed fifth, and the varsity team cam in sixth place.

Strong runners for the girls on the varsity level are Lynn Tonske, Jymette Bonnivier, and Karen George.

On the freshman‑sophomore level Lory Tonske, Karin Schlatter, and Kathey Kardasz lead the way for the strong Warrior squad.
