The Maine West badminton team competed in the Central Suburban League South Division and came away with three individual titles. The meet was held at Waukegan East.

Meg Gravesmill defeated Ruth Machette of Waukegan to win first singles, a top honor. Denise Jenderzak and Jean Hoch captured second and third singles

respectively. In fourth singles, Liz Boch finished third; and the doubles team of Karen Peterson and Kathy Cooper placed third in the second doubles division.

Maine South won the tournament with 14 points; Waukegan was second with 131/2 points; and West was a close third scoring 12 points.
