Batmen See Conference Title Ahead

Maine West's baseball team has an overall record of 13‑3, and an 8‑2 record in the conference assures at least a tie for first place in the conference. The Warriors still have Maine East and Maine South left to play, with the regional tournament starting this Thursday against the winner of the Lutheran North‑Niles East game.

The Maine West varsity baseball team scores are as follows. Maine West beat Glenbrook North, 8-4; the Warriors

were victorious by clobbering Niles West, 13-2 and pounding Maine East, 13-7, while losing to Glenbrook South, 3-1. The varsity's leading hitters are Craig Gustafson; Tim Richardson; Jim Lindeman; and Chip Holler. The Warrior's leading pitchers are Jim Lindeman, Ron Heyse, and Cesar Suarez.

Maine West is currently rated fifth in the state and is looking forward to a very successful state tournament.
