Mr. Coburn Congratulates
Class of '79

Dear Class of '79:

I would like to extend to you my most sincere congratulations on your graduation from Maine West this June. When you first arrived at our school, Commencement was a distant goal calling for you to overcome a number of challenges ‑ called "requirements" by the state of Illinois and the Maine Township Board of Education. You are now at that point in life where you have surmounted almost every requirement and are about to step upon the platform where a diploma awaits.

You can be justly proud of your class. I certainly am, for it has been a senior class distinguished by fine leadership and quality performance in the classroom as well as in the field of student activities. Maine West has always offered outstanding programs, and I am highly pleased that you have taken full advantage of them. I am sure that your family and friends are also proud of your success; they definitely have a share in it through their encouragement that helped you reach your present status.

As you go forth into higher education or immediately into your chosen career, I offer my very best wishes for a bright and satisfying future.

James L. Coburn, Principal
