Graduation Rite To Be Held
Next Wednesday

The Maine West Commencement ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 7 p.m. The Commencement Band, under the direction of Mr. Paul Magnusson, will open the ceremonies by performing the "March Processional" and "Pomp and Chivalry." The color guard will present the colors and the National Anthem will be sung. This will be followed by the Invocation, presented by the Msgr. Joseph Lahart, from St. Emily Church in Mount Prospect.

After the opening ceremonies, Mr. James Coburn, principal, will introduce Richard Bistany, the Senior Class president. Rich will make a welcome address and introduce the Maine scholars. After his introduction, two Maine scholars will speak. When these two speechs are concluded, the graduating class will sing the Maine West Alma Mater. Then, Dr John Benka, Assistant Superintendent of District 207, will present the class. Mrs. Anne Evans will accept the class, for the Board of Education.

A special presentation of the late Jeffrey Magnone's diploma will be delivered by Mr. Coburn. Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Charlotte Storer, and Mrs. Arlynn Warmack, board members, will present the diplomas. The graduates names will be read by Mr. Daryl Schultz and Mr. George Walker.

Finally, the Commencement ceremonies will conclude with the Commencement Band's playing of "Fanfare and Recessional" and the "University Grand March" for the Recessional.

The graduates will be seated by 12 Junior Honor Guards. These include: Mary Androff, Robert Fisher, Bonnie Huck, Becky Johnson, and Karen Kilcullen. Still more are Archana Lal, Carolyn Liszewski, Samir Patel, David Plaut, Linda Reppert, Doreen Schmidt, and Daniel Tortorelli.
