At this morning's twentieth annual Senior Honors Assembly, the Maine West faculty honored thirteen outstanding seniors from the various departments.
Although each department has its own criteria for a departmental award, they all have several requirements in common. To win an award from any of the departments, a student must have studied in that department for four years and have received consistently high grades in that particular subject area.

Accelerated status within the department, though an advantage, is not required, because some departments do not offer accelerated courses.
Recognition as a departmental award winner is one of the highest honors given to a senior at Maine West. All of these seniors should be extremely proud of their awards because the awards signify the recognition of all of the departmental teachers and the approval of the entire staff.
