Sports Woman Chosen

Maureen Moeller has been selected as the most outstanding female athlete for the 1978‑79 season. She is one of few athletes at Maine West to compete and excell in three sports.

Maureen has been on the volleyball team for all four of her years here at Maine West. The last two of those years she has been a starter on the varsity team. Last year Maureen was voted as Most Improved Player. This year she received the honors of co‑captain, Most Valuable Player, and All‑Conference team.

The second sport Maureen participated in was swimming. Once again she was the Most Valuable Player and an All‑Conference selection. This past year Maureen broke the school record in the 400 free relay, the 50 free, and the 100 free. Maureen was also a state qualifier this year. 0

Maureen's final sport this season was track. Maureen was captain of the track team for the past two years, while also being Most Valuable Player this year. She was a part of three relay teams, all of which took first place in conference. Maureen went down for state competition in both her junior and senior years.
