Maine West Salutes Senior Boy Athletes

Basketball

Jim Schultz has been chosen as this year's most valuable Maine West senior player on the basketball team. Each year the varsity players elect the player whom they think is the most valuable to the team.

When choosing the person to receive the award, the team players must keep in mind a number of things. They must choose the player for many different reasons, ranging from sportsmanship, playing ability, co‑operation with others on the team, and also dependability. Dependability is a very important part of the game. Those who voted for Jim, felt as though if someone were temporarily off the team, due to injury or illness, that Jim would be the one most sorely missed.
