Gary Crossland was voted to be this year's most valuable player for the football team. This honor was bestowed upon him by his fellow teammates, as they were the ones who voted for him.

Sophomore year Gary was a standout, despite his diminutive size. He was moved to varsity that year to play in the backfield. He lettered three years in football while also playing baseball, running track, and participating in gymnastics. His junior year, he was honorable mention All Conference and was chosen first team All Conference his senior year. That year he also led the team in rushing statistics.
