This year has seen some changes in Orchesis dance club. Tryouts were held Sept. 18‑22, and 24 new members were chosen from the 90 girls who tried out. One new tradition that began on the night of tryouts was the Orchesis tee‑shirts presented to the members, both new and old. This year's officers are Beth Kostick, president; Debbie Rutheford, vice-president; Jamie Minor, secretary; Judi Dahlquist, treasurer; and Marian Baker, publicity chairman.

The 1978‑79 Orchesis Club, in addition to their annual show and field trips, will decorate a Homecoming window and participate in the parade on Thursday and Friday nights. This year's show is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12‑13. The club also will perform at two basketball games this winter. In addition, candy sales for the club will be starting soon; and they also will be planning for V‑show. Beth Kostick commented, "This will be a busy year for the club, but I'm sure we will be able to come through ahead with the help of our new sponsor, Ms. Olson."
