Homecoming: A Quack?

This year's Homecoming promises to be something special. Student Council and the Senior Class have been working hard making preparations for this annual event. Many changes have been made concerning the pep rally, courts, and floats. Because of these changes "The Wondrous World of Disney" will have something for everyone.

For those who are into floats, this year's competition will be strictly between the four classes. All preparations will be done in D‑wing starting Oct. 6 and ending with the parade on Thursday, Oct. 12. Last year the seniors were victorious. This year's winner will be placed on the Homecoming float competition plaque presently on view in the Student Council office window. Council would like to wish each class good luck on their creativity and work on the float.

The pep rally takes place on Thursday of next week and will be sponsored by Pep Club. There will be strict

enforcement of all rules this year to insure fair competition in the VW push, the tug-of-war, and the Donald Duck Quack contest Be sure to be there to see the administration in the first annual slowest bike race.

The courts this year will consist of five boys and five girls, two less than last year. The Homecoming king and queen will be announced at the pep rally and crowned at the dance on Saturday by last year's king Bob Wood and queen Cindy Lee. The dance, sponsored by the Senior Class, is entitled "When You Wish Upon a Star" and will be held from 8‑11 p.m. featuring "Sneaker."

Homecoming week will be a week to remember. There will be float building on Monday and Tuesday and Disney films in L‑101 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Thursday is Disney tee‑shirt day, and Friday is the big quack‑off of the Donald Duck Quack‑alike contest.
