The Maine West archery team, coached by Mr. Harold Connell, is having a tremendous season. The archers have already compiled a 9‑1 record and are sure to make it through the districts into the state tournament.

In a meet against Niles East Mr. Connell decided to shoot the Maine West JV against their varsity. The result was a 28‑2 victory for the Warriors. The varsity members shot for score at this meet. Donna Pluciennik shot a perfect end from 20 yards out. Meg Gravesmill shot a 651; Sharon Vaugh shot a 631; Margie Hahn shot a 621; and Marianne Gibson shot a 610.

Last Tuesday the archery team devastated Ridgewood by the score of 30‑0. Sharon Vaugh shot a 657, and Margie Hahn shot a 616.

The I.H.S.A. districts begin tomorrow morning here at Maine West. This year's archery team will definitely advance to the state tournament this year which will be next weekend.
