Volleyball Team Success Due to
Team Play

This year's volleyball team is having a tremendous season. Both the varsity and the junior varsity have won their last three matches.

On Sept. 26 the varsity squad walked over a weak Evanston team in two games. The overwhelming score of the first game was 20‑6, and 20‑3 was the score of the second game. The JV also defeated Evanston in just two games.

Last Saturday the volleyball team hosted a tough Peoria Manual team and again won the match in two games. The games were both close: 20‑18 was the score of the first game, and 20‑14 was the second game score, but in the end the Maine West team was once again victorious. The JV also won their match on Saturday. It only took the JV two games to record a victory as they trounced their opponent by the scores of 15‑0 and 15‑9.

Ms. Royleen Tipton, varsity volleyball coach, commented, "The reason for our success this year is our great team effort. Volleyball is a team sport, and we would not be winning if we weren't playing like a team."
