Mr. Coburn Awarded

Mr. James Coburn, principal of Maine West, has received an honorary certificate from the American Field Service in New York. The certificate was presented to him on Tuesday, Oct. 10, here at Maine West.

The New York office of the American Field Service has kept a record of Mr. Coburn's accomplishments since he first became involved in the program over 20 years ago. The New York office sent the certificate to the Maine West Adult Chapter. Mr. Richard Jordan, president of the Maine Chapter of AFS presented the award to Mr. Coburn.

The award is an honorary certificate of appreciation which acknowledges Mr. Coburn's active participation and his dedicated work in the program. He feels very honored to have been given this award and plans to remain involved with the program and its members.

Mr. Coburn was the first sponsor of the American Field Service in the Maine Township district and was instrumental in ending our first Maine Township student abroad to Germany in 1956.
