The Westerner omitted the names of the following girls who made Orchesis, in the last issue: Jeanne Mascenic '79 and Dianne Thing '80. The Orchesis Club will hold its annual production Jan. 12 and 13.
WMTH STAFF NAMED
The following people were chosen to serve on WMTH staff this year: Kathy Bashem, '79, Jim Mix '79, Fran Eck '81, Bob Schumm '80, Brian Schooley '80, Bob Nostwick '80, James Beedy '80, John Nebl '80, Eileen Terry '80, and Margaret Borris '81. Twenty‑six additional people tried out for this year's staff.
MR. MIKVA SPEAKS
Congressman Abner Mikva's speech was rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 23. Congressman Mikva was originally scheduled to speak to all students in government class on Thursday, Oct. 5.

Students attended his speech third period as an in‑school field trip. Students were allowed to ask questions after Congressman Mikva's speech, as they were after the speech of Mr. John Porter.
FIRST QUARTER ENDS
The first quarter ends on Friday, Nov. 3, which will be a school day. The second quarter will end on Friday, Jan. 19.
STUDENTS NOMINATED FOR BAND
Maine West students Scott Bolman '79 and Brad Briskey '79 have been nominated for the MacDonalds All‑American Band. The nomination was made when the two students and their families were invited to eat the MacDonalds on Oakton with associate band director, Mr. Paul Magnussen. Both students were also nominated last year.
