Jeff Magnone Honored

Jeff Magnone '79 died on Friday, Oct. 13, as the result of an auto‑train collision which occurred the previous night. Funeral services were held in St. Zachary's Church on Monday, Oct. 15.

Jeff was highly respected both among his peers and also by the faculty who taught or otherwise were in contact with him. Said Mr. Eugene Zuccarini, Jeff's counselor, "Being close to Jeff and seeing him turn into a fine young man was one of the rewards of being his counselor. He will be greatly missed by the people whose lives he touched, now, in the present; and he will continue to be missed far into the future."

While attending Maine West, Jeff played both hockey and football: In school he was one of the most popular in his class; his sphere of friends encompassed many.

Mr. James Coburn, principal of Maine West, stated, "Jeff was a popular and talented young man with a warm personality and deep appreciation for the world around him. His interests were many and varied. Those of us whose lives Jeff touched will long remember his ready smile and his enthusiastic participation in a number of worthwhile activities. While he will be sorely missed, he has left pleasant memories to sustain us."
