The moon was full that Halloween night.
It lit up the sky so evil and bright.
A menacing wind was beginning to blow,
It howled through the streets high and low.
Children were dressed up and jumping with glee
They soon would depart on their holiday spree
Collecting their candy at each open door,
Then running and laughing and looking for more.
And many got chocolate‑a childhood delight
Or pennies and gum from those who were tight.
They took what was offered and put up no fight,
Then returned for revenge later that night.
The children, they shrieked as they fled from the scene
Hope you have a most delightful Halloween.
