Homecoming King, Queen Elected
at Pep Rally

Seniors Joe Glasgow and Dawn Lorenzo were chosen as this year's Homecoming king and queen. They were announced the winners at the Pep Rally on Oct. 13.

They were chosen from a court consisting of five girls and five boys. Members of the court, all seniors, included Donna Schultz, Andy Jacks, Jackie Sullivan, Doug Zegler, Kim Marquette, Dusty Carlson, Ann Vaccarello, and Tony Tovella.

At the Pep Rally each member of the court received a box with a flower in it. The boys had a carnation in their box, and the girls had a single rose. The boy with the red carnation and the girl with the red rose were the king and queen of Homecoming. The rest of the court received a white flower.

Each Junior and Senior Class nominated one person for king and one for queen from the Senior Class. These nominees were then put on a ballot and the Senior class voted for court members. The court‑elects were then presented to all four classes in homeroom assemblies. Every student was asked to vote for one boy and one girl. The votes were than tallied up, and the king and queen were announced at the rally.

A tea was held in honor of the court, and the court's parents were invited. It was held in the teachers' lounge before this year's Homecoming dance, "When You Wish Upon a Star," where the band, Sneaker, performed on Saturday, Oct. 14. The coronation was held after the tea where Joe and Dawn, were crowned. Dawn was presented with a crown and a bouquet of red roses. Her court received a bouquet of carnations. Joe was presented with a scepter and a red boutonniere, and his court also received boutonnieres. Then a song was played in honor of the court, and all court members danced with their escorts. The dance was a great success.
