Vacation Awaited by All

Thanksgiving Vacation starts today at 2:40 p.m. Classes will resume on Monday, Nov. 27 at 8 a.m.


Correction

The Westerner omitted the name of Donna Schultz '79, for President's Council members. Donna is the captain of Pom Pon and president of Brotherhood. Also forgotten were Steve Hines '80, Chess Club president, and Kathy Graczyk '79, who is president of Artists Unlimited.


Food Drive

Junior and Senior Leaders held a canned food drive which started on Monday. The food will go to needy families.

Pom Pon To Compete

The Maine West Pom Pon Squad was entered in a Pom Pon competition at Olympia Fields on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The girls were entered in three different categories: a kick routine, a prop routine, and an originality routine. They were judged in a total of 25 schools, all from Illinois, on the basis of originality, appearance, coordination as a squad, rhythem, motions, kicks, and team pep.


Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament

The varsity basketball team will be competing in a Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament today, Friday, Nov. 24, and Saturday, Nov. 25, starting at 6:30 p.m. Maine West will be facing New Trier East, New Trier West, Prospect, and Maine South.
