The Maine West Student Council has been active throughout the year. For example, on Nov. 2, the Student Council had a Student Administration Seminar. This seminar is set up to answer any questions you may have about Maine West. A meeting of this type is held once a quarter in L‑102, periods 1‑7. The next ones will be announced. Also in November Student Council produced the V‑Show. They financed it and arranged for ticket sales. This year's V‑Show was "really entertaining" and had "a lot of students, which is good," according to Mrs. Gail Macdonald, Student Council sponsor.
It also appears like the Student Council will be busy for the rest of the year, starting with production of the Dial Tone which this year will be called Dial‑A‑Date. It is on sale now.
Student Council will hold another Penny Drive on Dec. 11. There will be a box, with five sections, each having a class president's name plus one teacher's name to each section. What you have to do is

throw your extra pennies in a certain section. At the end of the drive the person with the most pennies in his/her section will get a pie in the face. The money is donated to charity.
There will also be another Christmas card delivery on Dec. 11. All you have to do is get a card for whomever you want, put the name of the person plus his homeroom teacher's name, and bring it to R-103A. From there Student Council will take it to the correct homeroom.
For the rest of the year there is the Christmas Formal, Girl's Choice, a dance marathon in the spring, plus all the Quad Council meetings so it looks like the Student Council will have its hands full.
Also don't forget that every Thursday, during first period, the Student Council has a meeting in L‑101. This is for anyone who may wish to be involved in Student Council or to make suggestions for school activities.
