Well, it's that time again; it's Thanksgiving. All around you there are little clues which let you know that the holiday is on the way‑certain things that you only see around this time of year. Let me give you some examples.
For instance, one day when you're sitting around watching the good old boob tube, take a careful look at the commercials. Yep, all the commercials that advertise turkeys and pumpkin pies are back on. Take the commercial for Butterball turkeys, for example. How many times are you working in the kitchen and two pilgrims appear? Not very often, right? If you really take a careful look, that lady hasn't been working over a hot stove all day; and she isn't even surprised to see these two pilgrims standing in her kitchen watching her take the turkey out of the oven. Good thing these commercials are only on once a year.

Another example would have to be the fact that things that are never on sale suddenly appear half price. Take cranberries, for instance; you never hear about them during the year but when Thanksgiving rolls around all the cranberries go on sale. While you're out sometime, look at some of the houses. Notice the windows with paper pilgrims and turkeys stuck on with tape. That really let's you know that Thanksgiving is almost here.
Next time you're in K‑Mart listen to the music, instead of the K‑Mart commercials. They start to play Jingle Bells. If Thanksgiving weren't just around the corner, they wouldn't dare play Christmas music.
These certain things that occur right around this time are little reminders that the holiday is close at hand. Hopefully with all the advertisement and sales going on when Thanksgiving does arrive, you'll have the holiday spirit.
