Varsity-Football Team Defeated in
Last Two

The Maine West Warrior varsity football team lost a good defensive battle on Oct. 27 by a score of 7‑0. They played their traditional rival, the Maine South Hawks. The Warriors' defense held the Hawks to one touchdown in the first quarter but couldn't score.

The sophomores also had an unsuccessful night, as the losing score in their game was 20‑6. Maine South came ready to play and dominated the entire game. The lone Warrior touchdown was scored on a pass from Tom Hanson to Scott Becker.

On Nov. 3 the Warriors ended their season at Maine East against the Demons and were defeated by a score of 23‑16. Starting quarterback, Mark Voss, was injured in the first quarter and was replaced by Tim Richardson who almost brought the Warriors to a great comeback but threw a costly interception as time ran out on the Warriors. Touchdowns in this game were scored by Gary Crossland with Perry Carlini catching the conversion pass. Crossland scored again on a 65‑yard run. Jim Lamberty caught the conversion pass. This loss dropped the Warrior's record to two wins and seven losses.
