The girls' volleyball team continued to win this season defeating both Glenbrook North and Waukegan East on all levels. The varsity extended their record to 17‑3, the best in school history.
On Nov. 8 the West spikers downed Glenbrook North in an important match. Glenbrook was first in the conference until they faced the West varsity. Maine West, Maine South, and Glenbrook North are all now tied for first place in the conference.
The JV defeated Glenbrook as did the freshmen, the frosh spikers winning in three games. The JV finished second in the conference, and the freshmen lost one match in conference play to Maine South. The Warrior varsity and JV also lost to a tough South squad.

On Oct. 26 the West girls beat Waukegan East at home. The varsity won in two games with an excellent performance.
This year has been a total success for the varsity volleyball team as for the JV and freshmen. The starting six varsity players and setters Debbie Mienke and Maureen Moeller and hitters Janette Bonnivier, Wendy Winkleman, Natalie Homer, and Karen Habetler. According to Coach Royleen Tipton this year has been "a real team effort which is the only way to win in volleyball."
