Couples Enjoy Christmas Atmosphere
at Winter Formal

This year's Christmas Formal Dance, entitled "Winter Wonderland," was held on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 8‑11 p.m. It was held in the auditorium, and the cost was $5 per couple.

The band, Fantasia, which arrived late due to transportation difficulties, played a variety of music ranging from rock and roll to disco to slow love ballads. The band was worth the wait and enjoyed by all. Before the band arrived, the couples talked and relaxed.

Queens Ann Vaccarello '79 and Jackie Sullivan '79 presided over the dance. They were presented with a crown and a bouquet of red roses by Dave Jackson '79, Student Council president. The court consisted of Alicia Cruikshank '80, Paula Luthardt '81, and Pepi Hooczko '82. Court members were presented with bouquets of carnations.

Members of the court and the queen were nominated from students of each class. The Freshman Class nominated a girl for the freshman court member and

so on. Two girls from the Senior Class were nominated, and the one girl with the most votes was the queen of the dance. The other senior girl was the runner-up. The winners were announced on Wednesday, Dec. 6, when the girls were presented with a Christmas corsage to be worn around school.

Refreshments were served in the cafeteria during the dance. They consisted of fruit punch and Christmas cookies.

The auditorium was decorated with artificial Christmas trees on each side of the stage and all around the auditorium. Green, red, and white streamers were strung back and forth across the auditorium ceiling to complete the Christmas atmosphere.

Many thanks are due the student committees and students who helped put the dance together and make it a success. The dance was well attended and enjoyed by all who went.
