chemistry and is going to enroll in medical school next year. This good record can be traced back to his high school days at Maine West. For three years he was in the top five per cent at West in his graduating class. His grades alone are enough to merit this award; however, he still needed contributions to the life of the college.
Sports are Dean's answer to his contribution. Throughout Dean's high school years he was actively involved in many sports including baseball and soccer all of his four years here at Maine West. He now plays on both the teams at the University of Chicago.
When asked his feelings about winning the prize, he replied, "It is nice to know if you work a little harder than expected somebody recognizes it."
