This year's girl swim season started on Nov. 6. The girls have been working very hard preparing for their meets, practicing every morning from 6:30 to 7:30 and after school from 3:30 to 5:30.
So far the girls have faced five teams. In their first meet against New Trier West, the varsity lost, 86‑80; and the JV lost, 110‑55. In their second meet against Highland Park, however, both the varsity and the JV were victorious, the varsity by the score of 104‑60 and JV by the score of 111‑26.
The varsity lost to Deerfield by a narrow margin of 86‑80. On Dec. 8 the team met a tough Maine South team and was defeated by a score of 107‑67 in the varsity meet and 106‑58 on the JV level. The meet scheduled with Glenbrook South was snowed out.
So far this season the varsity record is 1‑4, and the JV record is 2‑3. Team coach, Mrs. Peggy Mitchell, stated that "We have a lot of depth this year. Out team is as strong as it has ever been. Every meet has been very close so far."
Seniors on this year's swim team include: Dawn Erickson, Eileen Kramer, Maureen Moeller, Lynn Paulsen, and Kathy Schick.

Juniors include: Liz Herman, Julie Kosmond, Sandy Lietzau, Mary Morgan, Beth Papucci, Linda Reppert, Heidi Schlatter, and Lynn Tonske.
Sophomores are Kathy Beiris, Deanne Drifke, Heidi Eilken, Wendy Finlay, Kathy Kearns, Deb Peters, Karen Sherkey, and Carolyn Willet.
Freshmen are Lisa Carter, Vicki Fetting, Snowy Fjukuitara, Linda Gottschalk, Janine Grossi, Karen Hansen, Julia Hernandez, Deb Holler, Cindy Koerber, Lisa Kosmond, Susie Lietzau, Laura Linning, Deb Mesenbrink, Deb Robbins, Wendy Smith, and Babs Weber.
Outstanding performances this season have been given by Heidi Eilken, who has made a new school record every meet, and Mary Kay Gerhardt, a diver. Mary Kay is a contender for state title this year and is now seeded first in the state.
The girls' diving team consists of : Melinda Carter, Dawn Fabiszak, Mary Kay Gerhardt, Robin Johnson, Alina Komendaeski, Andy Lynn, Anne Reppert, and Barb Rieck.
