"Three more laps, then hit the showers," yells the coach. "Hit the showers? We don't even have time to get dressed," yells one distressed girl, while trying to fight her way through the locker room to change and be ready for her next class in three minutes flat.
"Buzzzzz." "What's that?" yells the distressed girl, still trying to fight her way to the locker and struggle to get her gym suit off and clothes on.
"It was the bell ,"yells Speed Changer, who always is the only one who makes it to her next class on time. There you go, racing down the hail, still dressing, with one minute left to get from the end of C‑wing to the end of A‑wing. You might make it if no one suddenly steps in front of you or a teacher doesn't stop you for running down the hall.
Does this sound familiar? Are you faced with this situation? Do you find yourself constantly being late for your next class? Do you often ask yourself,
"Why does this always happen to me?" Well, you're not alone. In fact, you are one of many who face this particular problem daily. Not all of us can be a Speed Changer.

Nowadays gym teachers just don't understand why it takes so long to dress. Today's fashions have changed, and whoever invented the layer look wasn't thinking of those of us who take gym. Gym teachers tend to lose track of time, while enjoying watching us doing conditioning or running 20 laps. It takes more than three minutes to put on five or six layers of clothing. Once you get all your clothes on, you naturally have to fix your hair and make‑up, which has been ruined putting on five or six layers of clothes.
Other gym teachers feel we don't get enough exercise in gym class, so by letting us out late, we have to do the 440 to get to our next class on time.
Getting a pass is like getting out of swimming, almost impossible. Upon arrival at your next class, we receive a little T marked in the gradebook. Unfortunately the little T doesn't stand for terrific. Too many little T's in fact stand for a little green pass to the deans' office.
Even on the day you're supposed to go see the dean, you are late. And where are you coming from? Gym, naturally. So as life rolls on, you seem to collect little T's and become good friends with the dean.
