School Closings Cause Revision |

|
As a result of the inclement weather of this winter, there have been several changes in the 1978‑79 school calendar. In a letter from Dr. Richard Short, superintendent, on Feb. 2, 1979, he relayed to the faculty, students, and staff that the schedule for spring break and the official closing date would not be changed to make up for the lost school time. The decision was reviewed and confirmed by the Maine Township High School Board of Education, and there will be no change in the spring break and closing date unless we are confronted with additional weather calamities or emergencies. |
Another change in schedule will increase the time remaining in the third quarter of this school year by changing the ending date for this grading semester from Mar. 23 to Apr. 6. However, the instructional time lost from inclement weather this past month will be made up by canceling the Institute Day scheduled for today and the half‑day workshop scheduled for May 16. |
