'Westerner; 'Legend' Sign Adds Class
To Rotunda

BY KATHIE PACKARD

About three and one‑half years ago, Mr. George Walker, the Westerner and Legend adviser, asked if a sign could be made and put up outside R‑210 designating that area for the Westerner and Legend, just as WMTH has its sign across the hall. Well, nothing happened until this year.

Then one day last fall Mr. George Blanas asked his art classes to submit any ideas they had for the sign. He was looking through senior Debbie Paska's work and saw her idea so he took it. In November Mr. Eldon Burk, assistant principal, took the design to Tri‑R‑Signs where a Mr. Bredar did the actual making of the new sign.

During all this, Debbie was never told that it was her idea for the sign that was used until she saw the sign up in the hall two weeks ago. "I was really surprised and happy because I didn't know about it," commented Debbie.

The purpose of the sign is to aid students in any problems they might have concerning their Legend order, and if anyone wants to submit anything to the Westerner, they will know where to take their work.
