That Special Person

BY DANA SCHULTZ

Did you ever try to get that special person's attention? Did you say "no"? Come on guys, you mean you've never combed your hair a few extra times a day just in case you see "her" in the hall? You've never bought a new T‑shirt with "her" favorite group on it, jacked up the back of your new sports car, put on racing tires, or used a little extra wax to get the chrome to really shine? You've never gone out and purchased a new pair of corduroy Levi's or blue jeans? Slapped on a little after shave just to see if "she'll" notice? You've never looked up "her" address in the phone book and driven by "her" house hoping to get a glance at "her" in the window or just standing outside?

And girls, you've never gotten a new haircut or body wave to get "him" to look at you? Or a new, dressier outfit? Haven't you ever walked out of your way to pass "him" in the hall or cut through a gym to get a glimpse of your favorite jock? Go on a crash diet to slim down your figure? You've never gone out and bought a new sexy perfume to get "hi" attention as you casually, but accidentally, drop your book in the hall as "he's" walking by so "he" can pick it up for you?

I ask you again: did you ever try to get special person's attention?
