The Maine West Art Department submitted 120 art pieces to the Wieboldt's: Scholastic Art Competition in Evanston. Maine West won 84 awards in six division. The art awards break down into the following divisions: 22 Gold Key Awards, 18 Blue Ribbon winners, three Kodak Medalions, one Hallmark Nomination, and 41 Place Awards.
Blue Ribbon pieces will compete nationally in New York. Kodak photographs will go to New York also, where one will be selected as the best photograph from the entire group submitted. Five Hallmark nominations are sent to New York for competition, where one piece will be selected as the most outstanding and receive a cash award. The remaining Place Award pieces will be shown on exhibit in Evanston at Wieboldt's, but will not compete nationally.
