The Maine West Art Department submitted 120 art pieces to the Wieboldt's: Scholastic Art Competition in Evanston. Maine West won 84 awards in six division. The art awards break down into the following divisions: 22 Gold Key Awards, 18 Blue Ribbon winners, three Kodak Medalions, one Hallmark Nomination, and 41 Place Awards.

Blue Ribbon pieces will compete nationally in New York. Kodak photographs will go to New York also, where one will be selected as the best photograph from the entire group submitted. Five Hallmark nominations are sent to New York for competition, where one piece will be selected as the most outstanding and receive a cash award. The remaining Place Award pieces will be shown on exhibit in Evanston at Wieboldt's, but will not compete nationally.

Gold Key winners are Regina Crespo '79, Kerry Karpiel '81, Wendy Winkleman '79, and Sheri Zornow '81. Kodak winners are Laura De Serio '81, Kurt Hannestad '80, and Douglass Zegler '79. Anita Jensen '79 won the

Hallmark Award. Blue Ribbon winners are Sue Androff '81, Doug Balut '80, Kathleen Baumhart '80, Tom Bishop '82, Linda Jung '79, and Jim Keller '80. Others include: Lis Kiontke '80, Janet Kosar '80, Katy Sandri '80 and Dorren Schmidt '80. Still more are Ann Tortorelli '79, Debra Wink '81, Anne Ingles '79 and Kim Marquette '79.

The 41 Place Award winners are Sue Androff '81, Mike Batista '79, Katherine Becker '80, Alicia Cruikshank '80, Kathy Dsida '81, Beth Engel '79, Heather Grant '81, Corky Graczyk '81, and Kathleen Grczyk '79. Others are Kathleen Gradyl '79, Margie Hahn '79, Margot Hennesay '79, Dan Heraty '79, June Kaeding '79, Daniel Kaulback '79, Rex Hoppe '79, Jim Menke '79, and Maureen Moeller '79. Still more include: Paula Rossi '79, Michael Rowan '79, Debbie Ryza '81, Mary Skala '80, Sue Schoene '80, Carol Stube '82, Larry Stevens '81, and Betty Szymanski '80.
