This year's musical production, "Fiddler on the Roof," was presented to the public this past Mar. 15, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. A matinee was also held at 4 p.m. on Mar. 14.
The setting for this memorable musical is a small town in Tzarist Russia. Tevye, a dairyman, and the main character, was portrayed by Marty Pazdioch '80. His wife, Goldie, was portrayed by Janice Johnson '79. Kathy Bashem '79, Kristin King '80, Yvonne Pytlik '79, Marcie Bakker '81, and Amy Stoneburner '82, portrayed Tevye's daughters.
Fiddler on the Roof was performed in two acts, the first act consisting of 10 scenes and the second, 8. There were 19 songs in this musical such as "If I Were a Rich Man" and "Tradition." Other songs included "Matchmaker" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

At the beginning of the musical Tevye is caught in the age‑old parent child conflict, the constantly re‑erupting battle between tradition and change. During this time of crisis he clings to his people, his family, his tradition, and his faith. Despite many sad verses, Tevye is able to make a beautiful, lively tune of life.
Yenta, the matchmaker, was played by Maureen O'Malley '80; Motel, the tailor, was portrayed by Mark Halverson '80; and Perchik, the student, was played by Paul Dombrowski 79. Lazor Wolf, the butcher, was played by Mike Weber '79; and Mordcha, the innkeeper, was played by Karl Dahlstrom '80. Rob Pascolini '80 played the rabbi; and Eddie Johnson '82 played the rabbi's son, Mendel.
