The Des Plaines's Lions Club's annual Pancake Day will be held at Maine West High School on Saturday, Apr. 7, from 7 am, to 2p.m. The Pancake Day has been an annual event here at Maine West for many years. It has proved to be immensely successful each time.
The Lions' Club, which also sponsors the annual candy sale for the blind, will collect all of the proceeds which are gathered from the sale and donate them to projects for helping the blind.
The breakfast/brunch will be held in the Maine West student cafeteria. Tickets will be sold at the door and will cost $2.50 for adults, and $1 for children under 12. The breakfast includes all the

pancakes one can eat, smothered with butter and syrup, and one serving of sausage. However, the sausage is not "all you can eat." There is a choice of beverages: coffee or milk.
Mr. John Graef, assistant principal for staff, stated that the Pancake Day is an extremely worthwhile endeavor. He also commented that Maine West usually raises approximately $4,000 to $6,000 through this project each year. According to Mr. Graef, Pancake Day has been greatly successful at Maine West here in the past and should prove to be just as successful this year. He encourages the public to attend, because the cause is so worthy.
