Robb MacNab Selected For
All American Program

Robb MacNab. Who is Robb MacNab? You have probably heard his name mentioned. You probably also know he is a good swimmer. However, Robb is more than just a good swimmer.

Robb is the only athlete at Maine West to be accepted in the High School All American Program. This "fine honor," says Coach Scott Chovanec, is achieved by being distinguished in athletic performance, sportsmanship, and scholastics.

In athletic performance Robb definitely excels as you probably have heard over the morning sports results. He holds school records in the 200‑yard medley relay, 200 individual medley, 100 fly, and 100 breaststroke. He has been captain of. the swim team for two years and was voted the most valuable swimmer his sophomore year. Robb is also a state qualifier and has a chance to go down state and compete statewide.

Robb is also a fine sportsman. When asked how he felt about being accepted in the All American Program, he replied,

"To me, the success of the team is more important than my individual achievements." He is a very good and consistent student and is president of the Maine West M‑Club.

The question that everyone is probably asking is what does it take to be a good athlete? When asked what it was in his case, his one word answer was "dedication." When Coach Chovanec was asked what he thought of Robb MacNab, he replied that he is a "very hardworking and dedicated athlete."
