Maine West closed out its indoor track season by placing fifth in the conference.

For the varsity in the two‑mile relay Ray Matkovic, Norman Krause, and Dwight Bohne placed fourth. Jukka Kallio placed third in the individual twomile run.

The four‑lap relay team of Mark Voss, Joe Spiewak, Kevin Martin, and Randy Burke took fifth place. Martin also ran in the 440, placing fifth in this event.

Bob Fisher finished in third place in the mile run for Maine West. Martin, Bohne, Pius Periaswamy, and Mario Guerrero teamed up to take fourth place in the mile relay.

On the sophomore level, fine performances were turned in by Mike Schacte, two‑mile nun; Tim Harris, pole valut; and Chris Walsh, 880‑yard run.

With the completion of indoor track, the 1979 outdoor track season begins. Any potential runners should get in contact with Coach Ronald Brown.
